HARRIET TUBMAN - HER STORY
"A dramatic living history experience"
Based on Tubman's narrative biography written by Sarah Bradford.
Little Araminta Ross," Minty" was born into American's brutal slave system. As a child Minty suffered abusive beatings and hard labor. As a young woman she ran away to embrace her own freedom and returned to lead friends and family members to freedom. She lived to serve her people until the age of 93.
From 1849-1860 Harriet became known as "Moses" and made over 19 trips as a major conductor on the Underground Railroad. A secret invisible pathway and the first interracial civil rights movement. With a unwavering faith in a higher power, Harriet guided over 300 enslaved Africans along the eastern shore from Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York to Canada to...freedom!
Showed unwavering love for the people she liberated with her knowledge of healing plants. Nurse Harriet saved many lives on the battlefields of South Carolina. during the Civil War. Also, later in life after touring as a public speaker, she opened a home for the aged in Albany, New York. The home today, is a state landmark and museum.
As she was respectfully named by freedom fighter, John Brown. General Tubman - was a scout alongside Union Soldiers. General Tubman led a successful raid on a rebel camp with a army of free Africans, making national news.
Leader, Soldier, Nurse, Abolitionist, Age and Women's Right Activist. No woman in American History compares to Harriet Tubman 's powerful legacy of courage, faith, love, sacrifice, compassion, equal right and freedom.
Minty, Mrs. Tubman, Freedom Fighter, General Tubman, and the Moses of her people. Her story is the most important story in American History, then and now.
