"Parents need to know that Story Village with Aunti Oni is a culturally rich story and folktale podcast, lead by the talented Oni Lasana. Aunti Oni shares stories, poems and songs from all over the world and always credits the original poets, musicians, storytellers, and traditions, and tells the stories in her own voice with accompanying background music.
Sources include Aesop's fables, Native American traditional stories, books about the American South during slavery, original poems by Oni Lasana, Charlotte Blake Alston and Nikki Giovanni, folktales from Asia, and traditional stories from West Africa.
To drive home positive messages, like the importance of compassion, integrity, perseverance, and cooperation, Aunti Oni sometimes describes peril and hardship like rats trying to escape a cat, a child with cancer, and the injustice of slavery.
Episodes range from three to thirteen minutes, and run continuously with no advertisements, just Aunti Oni promoting her offerings at the beginning. Adults are sure to love listening to these stories along with their kids and will fall in love with Aunti Oni's caring and inclusive nature."

With great lessons of Ubuntu, I am because we are, from fabulous children authors, poets, original stories and songs from Aunti Oni to joyfully sing along and re-tell,
For children of all ages!
I'm a storyteller and a poet too
In the Story Village, I share them with you.
We don't go to a movie, or watch a TV screen,
It's all up in our head, if ya know what I mean
Pictures in my stories....are the ones you create.
Listen up! imagine!...lets collaborate!
Lend me your ears....hear what I say.
As stories come alive....in a awesome way.
Some of the stories are older than old—
Aunti Oni's spinning on what others have told.
Some are brand new..... fresh from my head,
Some I thought, or I heard, or I read.
Stories & poems from storytelling friends too!
Gave me permission to share them with you.
Movin' & groovin' to what we love so dear
I hope you enjoy Story Village in your ear
Stories from my heart — to all over the place
Aunti Oni loves to put a smile on your face
From beginning to end I give you stories to share
On how to treat others and how to play fair.
Ya know Story Village took you somewhere
In the world wide web and here and there
So if ya frontin' on Aunti...like you don't care
Then write your own stories,,,,if you dare!
Story Village with Aunti Oni...is the podcast for you
Cuz only cool people can do what we do
Yes, I’m a storyteller and a poet fa true
And guess what...you can be one too!
Cause it ain't nothing to it but to do it
And it ain't hard to do it, cause I'm use to it!

A poem by Oni Lasana
Enjoy the rest of your day
Tell troubles to go away
Don't care what nobody says
It's a great day to have a great day (Repeat 4X)
Cause troubles may come
ya don't know when,
When ya send them away
they may come back again
If trouble is a bully,
who calls you names,
Don’t bully back and cause more pain
Bullies are sad people,
that is true
Don't mind them
for what they do
They are hurting inside,
not happy like you
And hurt people,
hurt people too
Chorus:
Enjoy the rest of your day
Tell ya troubles to go away
Don't care what nobody says
It's a great day to have a great day
So laugh and smile...
it will soon end.
And you will find
a better friend
One who respects
and cares about you
You gonna have big fun
with them too
So what do you do?
What do you say?
To make troubles go away?
What do you do?
What do you say?
To make troubles go away?
(repeat chorus)
